A sickle-shaped harvesting knife used in Japan since ancient times for gathering wild vegetables. Its serrated (saw-tooth) blade slices through a wide variety of plants and cuts even thick, tough fibres with ease — the teeth formed by a traditional 'tooth-setting' process that only a handful of Japanese makers still perform. The blade is mirror-polished for excellent rust resistance.
Thoughtful extras round it out: a built-in compass for emergencies, and a carabiner so you can clip on a bag — very handy for collecting your harvest as you work.
