Tobisho (Tobitsuka Hasami Seisakusho Co., Ltd.) is a hand-forged shear manufacturer headquartered in Yamagata City, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan, founded in 1930. The company produces pruning shears, garden shears, bud shears, and hedge shears — including left-handed models — rooted in the centuries-old Yamagata bladesmithing tradition. Now led by a fourth-generation shear craftsman, Tobisho combines time-honored forging techniques with scientific testing, in cooperation with the Yamagata Industrial Technology Center, to achieve its distinctive sharpness and lasting edge retention. Each pair is carefully finished by skilled artisans, pairing exceptional cutting performance with refined craftsmanship.
